“My sisters can’t vote Trump out, but you and I can!”

Washington, D.C. – Today, in a number of battleground states, the United We Dream Action (UWDA) PAC rolled out new digital ads showing Latinx voters attacking Trump for wanting to deport their brother, sisters, and grandparents. The ads focus on mixed-status Latinx immigrant families. Voters share moving stories about their family members, who are DACA and TPS recipients, and remind other voters out there that they must vote to protect our communities. The ads are running in Arizona, Florida, Colorado, Michigan, Minnesota, North Carolina and Texas, and will target Latinx voters leading up to Election Day in November.

The ads are part of a now $700,000 ad-buy from UWDA PAC  that will appear on TV streaming services and social media platforms like YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram.

Juanita Monsalve, Senior Marketing and Creative Director of United We Dream Action PAC, said:

“Trump has destroyed DACA as we know it, hurting millions of DACA recipients and their families, despite a victory by immigrant youth this summer at the Supreme Court. Right now, the Trump administration is in court suing to try to end Temporary Protective Status (TPS) for over 300,000 immigrants from countries like Haiti, Honduras, El Salvador, Sudan, and Nicaragua.

Giving Trump any more time as president would mean a sure-end to DACA for the over 700,000 DACA recipients who are currently protected from deportation, it would mean an end to TPS, and more anti-immigrant policies and mass family separations. Defeating Trump is crucial for us and our community. These four powerful stories are part of our national electoral program to reach millions of voters through digital ads, texting, and phone banking.  But even more that, these videos are the voices of our communities. Our priority must be to protect our community by voting Trump out! Trump and his Republican enablers must be defeated by the largest possible margins. More than 2.5 million voters live with a DACA recipient or a family member that Trump is trying to deport. So, our communities have tremendous power. There are large populations of mixed status families like these in states we are targeting like Arizona, Texas, Colorado and Florida and they’ll vote because immigrant youth and our communities are here to stay and here to win.”
